Judith - Design Team Member - Inspiration Post - Birthday Teddy

Morning lovely folks and hope that this post finds you well
or at least as well as you can be and sending warmest hugs
to any of you who could use one xxx

Here I am with my take on an adorable Digi.

I have a "textile" friend who makes "memory" Teddies
out of Childrens' Clothes and this is the inspiration for this project

I chose this adorable Ted - "BirthdayTeddy" form the Store -
isn t he just adorable!

You can find him here -
http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=744_403_410&products_id=2850

I chose to create him digitally using a Paper Piecing Technique
with some papers that I have in my Digital Stash.

He could of course be created using any Papers that you
have either in your Digital Stash or Hands on Stash or
coloured with any medium - just what you prefer.

I hope that his Mummy has baked him a cake!

Thanks for taking the time to drop by Love and hugs Judith xxx

Inspiration by Gwyneth - August

Good Morning Everybody!
Hi everybody.  Thank you for popping over to have a look at the crafting inspiration that's on show on The Dragons Den blog.  Today I've gone for a card with a bit of paper piecing on it.

Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
  • "Uncle Perrys Gift" - found - Here - in the shop.
  • "Blue Harmony Papers" - found - Here - in the shop.
  • "Simply Lovable Collection CD Rom" - found - Here - in the shop.
Consumables:
3 x 300gsm, Super Smooth white cardstock; 8" square base card; ProMarkers - Prussian
FlexMarker - Blue Grey 3; Wink of Stella Brush Pens - Gold, Purple; Glue Gel; Topsy Turvy blue card; White Gel Pen
Equipment:
Scissors; Corner Punches

An angled view of the card showing the little dimension achieved on the card.

A closer look at the Paper Pieced digi stamp.

For this card I printed out some items from the CD-ROM to use as background elements, cutting a strip of one and putting it across the centre as a paper ribbon.  I went over the edges of this paper ribbon and the shaped panel with a ProMarker to make it stand out.  I also punshed two corner paper punches on the background and the blue Topsy Turvy mat to create interlocking corners.  I printed the dragons digi-stamp out three times, once onto plain cardstock, twice more onto paper already printed with two of the blue backgrounds from the blue harmony kit.  I think that these give a bit of a texture to the two dragons, especially Uncle Perry.  I cut out all of these, making the two blues paper piecing pieces for the two dragons.  I used the blue ProMarker to colour some parts of Uncle Perry and the Blue Grey FlexMarker to put in shading around the lines of both the dragons.  The Wink of Stella pens were used to colour in the parsel and the white gel pen to do Uncle Perry's eyes and teeth.  I shaped these and used glue gel to attached the pieces image to the card front.

And that is it from me for today.
Please keep coming back regularly to look at new posts as over the next few weeks you'll find various "Inspiration by ..." posts appear on this "Dragons Den" blog, as well as colouring tutorials and other posts by different Design Team members.  I'll be back with more posts over the coming months as well, so keep an eye out for those.

July Colour along - Transparent objects

For this months colour along we will be colouring transparent object, which will be the Balloons digi stamp available from the store

So get your pens and take a seat and lets start the fun!

I coloured the whole of the first balloon using a Sorbet Flexmarker

I then added some Wild Orchid Flexmarker to the shadowed area. Looks a bit bold at this point but once you have blended it with the Sorbet and it will dry slightly lighter the effect is a lot more subtle.

I used the same technique with the pink balloon using Pale Pink and Baby Pinks Promarkers.

As the pink balloon is behind the purple and they are transparent objects I first added a line using the Baby Pink to follow what would be the outline of the pink balloon.

Using Pale Pink fill in the area

The yellow balloon was coloured with Buttercup and Pastel Yellow Promarkers and the same technique was use to show it through the pink and blue balloon
(sorry the pictures of me colouring the blue balloon are missing. My camera decided to delete them ???)
To add some final touched I added some reflective highlighted areas using the blender pen

Which I then enhanced with a white pencil

And finally I used a yellow and pink pencil to sharpen the edges of the two balloons that are behind the others.

Hey presto!
I hope you enjoyed colouring along this month and hope to see you next month

Maya DT - Inspiration Project.

Hi. I'm the newest addition to the Team. *wave*. Today it's my turn to share my piece of work :)

This is my digital layout titled 'Resilient Award'.

I really love this picture of us together & decided to digital scrap it! :)

The items that I used here are:
(Both Rustic & Pastel Swirl kits are no longer available at SDD but you still can find it at  CUP).
Except the frame & vintage flowers I got free from the internet (sorry I couldn't remember from which websites).

It's been a while I didn't digital scrap. So when I saw these beautiful butterflies, I remember that I got my old kit (Rustic Culture) & try to mix it! I was so happy with the result, that I try to mix it with other old kit (Pastel), I was getting happy! Ok enough ranting! Lol!

I used Photoshop Elements for my digital scrapping. I know most of digital scrappers like to use the easier software but for me Photoshop Elements is still the best because of it's many function.
I don't think I need to show you how to make this layout. But if you do have any question regarding of how I did this, you can comment here. I will try my very best to answer them. :)

For more story about my daughter got the award, you can go to my blog.

If you have create a digital layout using SDD collection, please do share with us. I'm sure many of you can create beautiful layouts than me. :)

Thanks for looking.
xx
Maya

P/s: You can print out your digital layout into your desired size & put it into album :) I'm going to print this digital layout as soon as I find 8x8 album.

Marleen DT - Vintage style

Morning ya all..

Its my turn today to share a bit of inspiration.

For this month I have gone back to my favorite style, Vintage.
I have used a selection of goodies from the store for this proejct, but I love how they all mix & match.

I have used:

I really like this project. It was a simple matter of layering the elements on top of my back ground paper. I simple printed and cut out and then backed on to black card stock and cut out again leaving a border.
I added a a strip of washi tape behind the elements to really make then pop ouu and to tie the black border together.
The vintage clock is on my favorite list of SDD images. On this project I decided not to colour the image in, but to give it a bit more interest, I covered it in double sided sticky sheet, cut it out with my circle die, then covered it in distress glitter.

And that is it from em for today. I hope you like what I have made.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.
