Sneak peek No 1 FRANCHESKA collection - Scrapbook Page

Hi there everyone i'm here today to give show you my first sneak peek of the NEW Francheska kit. It'll be in the store November the first so make sure you pop over and get it first.  You also get a 20% discount for a ltd time so be quick.  This kit is very now full of all the latest trends. It's got tags, papers, bingo cards, embellishments and flowers that are begging for decoupage!

I made a scrapbook page for my first sneak peek. Remember to go easy on me as i'm only getting into scrapbooking and have a lot to learn. But it didn't turn out too bad.

Don't forget to keep an eye out for my next sneak peak coming real soon.

Vanessa DT - October Inspiration Post

Hello everyone hope you are all well today and in a good crafty mood :)

Today I am hoping to give you some inspiration on what to do with the Trick or Treat Set which I think is Spooktacular lol.

So as you can see I have made a card for you today

To make this card I started off with an 8" x 8" cream card base, next I printed off all of the elements I wanted to use, which were Journal Cards, Verses, and Elements.
To create my background I started with a 7" x 7" piece of white card and used distress inks to colour it, to do this I used Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge and used the blending tool to randomly apply the colour on the card, going over and over it to build up the depth

Next I splashed some water onto the card to add to the spooky effect I was trying to create, I then matted this onto Creative Expressions Ginger Cardstock

The next thing I did was to cut out all of the elements that I had printed out, I matted the witch on the broom journalling card onto the ginger card stock too, and added some foam pads to the back to give it some dimension.  I used an oval die to cut out the verse and inked around the edges with wild honey distress ink and added foam pads to the back again for extra dimension.

I used a creative expressions die by Sue Wilson to cut out the leaves then placed the flowers on top
As the pearls that I wanted to use were not the right colour I used a Promaker to change them and also added depth to the flower petals
I then added my bats and added some glitter with a silver glitter pen to them, I also added a bit to the cat and the owl in the picture and around the edge of the verse.

I hope you like my card and if you would like to leave me a comment well that would be appreciated too

Bye for now

Halloween DT inspiration post

This is my lovely mate Laura on her 40th Birthday. She is a Halloween baby and; decided to have a party, which was great fun !
I used the really fabulous Dragons Lair Designs Halloween set.
Find the shop , fan page on FB links below

It's a 12x12 scrapbook page

I started off with a 12x12 line green which I inked and spritzed to distress it

This is a new way to scrapbook for me, part digital , but great fun and useful as you can
Add things before you print out and use :-)

Snip down a petal as shown above, then stick the petals at the cut, over each other to form a cone shape, this 3D's it

I added beads in the centre of my flower with glossy accents

I printed out purple DL , punched edges and layered as shown

I love the raindrops and find they work so well on vellum too, I used that over my witch topper
With BOO on it , here are some close ups of details

Maya DT - My Final Piece

Hello~ How are you all?

Today it's my turn & it will be my final DT assignment for Dragons Lair Inspiration team.

I used the Trick or Treat collection to make this hybrid layout.

I digital scrapped the layout & printed it. I layered the ribbons & clustered the flowers & printed it. I printed some flowers, a ribbon & made a heart shaped embellishment using 3 different pp & printed them. Lastly cut them all & layered & put it as you have seen on my layout :) Oh the only other materials that are not from Trick or Treat collection are the background pp (the dotted maroon pp), the brown lace, the white lace (behind my picture), the doily, the tiny pearls & purple blings. The rest are from Trick or Treat.

I really love the colour of this collection! So what are you waiting for?? Grab it now! I know it's really worth it to have one in your collection.

Okay, it's time for me to say good bye. I personally thank everyone in the team for their amazing team work. I also thanks Marleen for giving me the chance to be a part of your team :)

Lastly, thanks to everyone who drop by & look at my not so wonderful work! Lol! :D
Keep creating & don't forget to be an amazing person. Bye~

Lots of Love

Inspiration by Gwyneth - October

Good Morning Everybody!

Hi Everybody!  It's time for another "Inspiration by ..." post from me.  This time I've gone away from cardmaking and digital scrapbooking and decided to simply decorate a canvas with a prayer, papers and a simple digi-stamp of a loaf of bread.  With string attached to the back it is created to hang in a dining room or kitchen..
Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
    • "Bread Pack"
    • "Simply Soft Collection -Papers"
    Consumables:
250gsm, Super Smooth white cardstock; Canvas board; Brown Watercolour Pencil; White Acrylic Paint; Quick Grab Wet Glue.
    Equipment:
    Scissors; Paint Brush.
    .
This is what my canvas looked like:

The prayer is in Welsh and a simple translation of the verse is:
Oh Father, as a contented family
we come, and thank you anew,
because from your hand there comes each day
    our food and our joy.
    Amen
This is an angled view of the canvas showing the little dimension introduced:

    .
    Method:

I started by printing out an assortment of the papers at different sizes, as well as printing out the digi-stamp of the sliced rustic loaf at around 2" in length.  I used a brown watercolour pencil to colour in the digi-stamp and then cut it out.  I cut out the panels of the papers and after laying the largest towards the top of my canvas I started playing around with positions of the rest and tore the edges of anything that wasn't along the outside of the canvas.  I used quick grab glue to stick everything onto the canvas, leaving a small white edge of the canvas all the way around.  I opened one of the backgrounds in My Craft Studio and re-sized it to the size I wanted before typing the prayer in a layer over the top.  This was also printed out and cut.  I shaped/bowed both the prayer and the loaf of bread and used the same glue to attach these at their left and right hand sides to the front of the canvas, holding for half a minute until the glue grabbed and held the item with the shape I wanted.  I then took a dry paint brush and some white paint and dry brushed very lightly in from the edges all the way around to soften the outside edge of the paper panels.

    -oOo-
And that is it from me for today.
Please keep coming back regularly to look at the new posts as different Design Team members show you a variety of creations made using digital items available via the Dragons Lair Design store.  I'll be back with more posts over the coming months as well, so keep an eye out for those.
