16th June - Scrap-page CAS Inspiration

Hello Everyone,

as part of the current CAS (Clean and Simple) theme for the month of June, I am posting my first project for The Crafting Dragon.

My post on the blog for the DT team is a digital scrap-page. I am a Paper-crafter turned Scrapbooker and I have developed a love for Digital Scrapbooking. I am currently obsessing on the SDD 'Good Friends' paper kit and I am using it a lot for my scrapbooking. The distressed look papers are great!.

As the theme suggests the challenge is to create a project with a Clean and Simple layout, keeping the embellishments  and layers to a minimum, with the space focusing the eye on the subject.
Although I am using the papers in a digital scrap-page, the layout works the same for traditional scrapbooking except where some Photoshop special effects are used.

My page is 12 x12 with the blue patterned paper as the background. I have layered strip of the Beige Damask with a punched scalloped border from the cream patterned  paper to bring the papers together. I slotted the photo between the layers at an angle to add interest and 'adhered' the photo to the page with some digital washi tape  I added a tag from the Pastel Swirls paper kit  to create a contrasting layer for the title. It was difficult to resist adding more but I am happy with the result.

Whoopsie Daisy is at Stamping with the Dragon

We have Whoopsie daisy over at Stamping with the dragon this next fortnight, with a Weddings Challenge, we got a lovely sheet to play with and seeing as i couldnt just choose one you get two cards lol

The wedding Couple i used a plain cream background with two Hunky Dorey papers and some flowers and gems from my stash, the image is coloured with promarkers and the background chalked the dress although you cant see it is dusted with glitter.

Next we have one for the Bridesmaid after all do they not deserve a thankyou for all they have done ?

I started with a plain pink background using papers, flowers and brads from my stash, again the image is colo9ured wth promarkers and the background chalked.

Before I get into this weeks challenge I would like to take the time and say Farewell to one of our Design Team Members Kate.  She has been with us for a year and is moving on, we are very sad to see her go but we must accept change and I would like to wish you all  the best in whatever you do kate, I am sure we shall still see you though :) .

Stamping with the Dragon - Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge

Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals So, since my Birthday is just around the corner the team thought it would be a great way to honor my Birthday by asking all of you to donate to this Special group and in return we will be offering 2 prizes.
