Altered Frame Video Tutorial

My first YouTube Video is now live on our own Stamping Dragon Designs Chanel 

It's something i have been wanting to do for a while and have eventually got set up to start it :) The first video is a tutorial for these adorable altered frames, great for Christmas or birthday gifts, I hope you enjoy it and would love if you subscribed to follow our tutorials as they come.

Ribbon Daisy flower Tutorial

Hi everyone how are you all doing ? Well we have been having lots of fun over in the Stamping Dragon Facebook group with weekly fun challenges, our monthly colouring challenge and we now have the brand new Loyalty Points scheme! pop along to the group for more information on that and the fun challenges and join in the fun! Not forgetting the current challenge over on the Stamping with the Dragon challenge blog where we have a fab prize on offer again this fortnight!

Today I would like to share with you a quick simple little tutorial showing how I create ribbon daisy flowers and I hope that you like it!

A selection of materials used to create the Daisy flowers ( I have also used a little bit of green felt . Not pictured)

Step 1. Cut a length of ribbon I used 6mm satin ribbon of 70cms in length to create a 5cm daisy but you can use any size you would like to dependant on the size daisy that you would like to create.

Step 2.  fold over the ribbon and pop a running stitch in the centre continue to do this until you reach the end of your length of ribbon and stitch the end to the centre to secure.

Step 3. Again using running stitch sew a small felt circle into the centre of the daisy ( optional)

Step 4. Sew a button or bead onto the felt in the centre of the flower

And here you have it completed ribbon daisies!

This also works well with small lengths of ribbon sewn individually instead of in one length.

And that's it the daisies are the perfect addition for all your crafty loveliness!

Shabby Flower Tutorial

Hi everyone how are you all?
Did you get chance to have a look at our current challenge over at the
Stamping With The Dragon  challenge blog ?
We have a fab prize on offer again this fortnight and there is still a couple of days left to get your entries in. We have had some amazing entries so far so a huge thank you to all.

Today we are sharing with you a tutorial showing how to create Shabby Flowers and here it is:

A selection of materials to use.

Roughly cut some circles from the fabric organza and net shown in picture

Pic 2

Roll or fold a circle together and hold with a pair of tweezers. Next gently pass over the end furthest away from the tweezers with your heatgun until it starts to melt, once this happens remove the tweezers and put to one side. Repeat this step until you have the number of layers that you require. ( I used 5 )

Take your layers of fabric ( I have used organza) and stitch them together. Add a button or bead in the centre if you wish.

Both net and organza have been used in the blue flower.

And that's it, Shabby Flowers.

Hi, I'm Fran and I'm 38 with a lovely hubby and two lovely children aged 12 and 9. I've been making cards for seven or more years now. It all started one Christmas when I decide to make our own cards. It's all snowballed from there, and I am proud to say that in our house we never have to buy a shop bought card, ever again , well apart from when my husband is getting one for me !. I love crafting as it's so relaxing. Our 12 year old has severe autism, meaning life can be very stressful in our house, so crafting helps. I love having a go at most techniques, and am getting into Digi Stamps more. The image I was given for this blog post was ideal. I am a design team member for the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog, Emma's Crafty Challenge, Digi Sketch Challenge Blog and I have recently started a challenge blog with another crafty friend called the Crafting Musketeers.

I have my own blog http://craftyfran.blogspot.co.uk/ , which I mostly use for displaying my Design Team projects.

I was honoured when Marleen gave me the chance to do a Guest Blog spot as I love the designs from http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/ , Janette has some fab images on there especially the Dragons , they are my favourite.
