August Colour Along

Hiya colouring buddys.

Shhhhhh...I have a bit of a little sneak peek for you for this months colour along. We will colouring one of the the fabulous new and coming soon landscape downloads. Fab isn't it!

So let's get going

1. Using a Soft Aqua Flexmarker and colour the sky, leaving 'spaces' for the clouds

2. Then use the Glacier Blue Flexmarker to add some shadow to the bottom of the clouds.

3. And blend with the Soft Aqua Flexmarker

4. For the grassed area I started with the Aniseed Flexmarker...

 5. ...and then added some Honeydew to the area nearer the water.
6. For the fields on the hill in the background I started with the Light Fawn Flexmarker...

7. ...then added some Sandstone Promarker for the shadows

8. ...and blended with Light Fawn

 9. For the river I started with a Aquamarine Flexmarker...
10. ...and added some shadow/reflection with a Glacier Blue Flexmarker
11.  Darken the area close to the rocks using Cadet Blue
12. ...and blend with Glacier Blue
13. Add some darker area alongside the water with a Honeydew Flexmarker to add some depth.

14. And finally, take the Aniseed marker again and add some shadowed areas to the grass area

Thank you Janette for letting me have a sneaky preview of your new collection. I really enjoyed colouring this image and I know you all will too.

See you next month

A scrapbook page using 'Sarah' design

I am thrilled to be a newby on the Dragons lair inspiration team.
I hope you like my scrapbook page, using a photo of my eldest granddaughter at a WW1 scene

I have made a 12x12 scrapbook page with some of the gorgeous papers and embellishments .
The great thing about digi images is you can print them how you want and whenever you want
Find the shop here http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/

I started with a deep red 12x12 and matted a cream page on top, with
Lots of inked and distress edges of course !!
I printed off my 'Sarah' papers onto cream card stock to keep the
Sepia look, all edges roughed up and inked.
The beautiful flower paper you can see on the right printed out really lovely
When lightened with photo editor  and printed on vellum ,what fun this is !
I used the vellum torn under the lace on left and also die cut flowers

Below is a close up of the vellum flowers.

Hope you like it , my blog is here if you would like to visit

Maya DT - Hybrid Layout

Hello! It's my turn again :)

Today I'm going to share a hybrid layout. Hybrid layout means a combination of digital scrapbooking & paper scrapbooking.

I made a simple hybrid layout. I scrapped the layout digitally. I used:
Passionately Paisley Collection
&
Circular Floral Frame.

After I scrapped digitally I printed it out, I cut it out & put it on a 6" x 6" pink cardstock. I put a doily, behind the printed paper & embellished it away. I put a white butterfly lace & spread some pink & purple stickles. I put an embellished purple flower,  put a white ribbon underneath it & some lovely pearls. Voila! A very simple hybrid layout, which everyone can make ;)

I must tell you I really LOVE this Passionately Paisley Collection. I promise you that you'll see a lot of it in my future creations! ;)

I would love to see your hybrid layout, please do share with us. If you have a question or two about hybrid layout, please do ask me here or at my personal blog, Scrapper Maya. :)

Thanks for looking.

Vanessa - Design Team Member - Inspiration Post

Good morning everyone, I hope that this post finds you well and in a good crafty mood :)

For today's inspiration I decided to venture into Christmas with this very cute Snowman and you can find him in by clicking on the above link

To make my card I started with an A5 sized card for my base and then cut and piece of Navy card large enough to leave a small white boarder, next I used a snowflake patterned embossing folder and embossed it, I then gave the card a light sanding to distress it a little.

After colouring my very cute snowman I matted him onto silver miri board before matting him onto a pretty patterned frame that I had in my stash, it wasn't the right colour so I used chipped sapphire distress ink to change it

Now I think that every Snowman deserves snowflakes so it was out with the die cutting machine and I cut several different style snowflakes and put different coloured gems on each of them

I then die cut a small tag for the sentiment and stamped Happy Christmas onto it and finished the card off by adding a pearl gem to each of the embossed snowflakes

I hope you like my first venture into Christmas and thank you for taking the time to read my post
Much Love
Vanessa

Marleen DT - Guitars

Hey blogger friends..

Its my turn to share some inspiration.

For this month, Ive used the the "Sarah" papers and the "Guitars" image.

For this project, I covered my card blank with a sheet from the "Sarah" collection matted onto black card stock. I printed my image onto water colour paper, coloured with distress markers and distress pads and matted it onto black card stock as well. I then diecut my stars and lay them between the layers. I finished it off with a greeting, a few gems and a coat of mica powder.

And that is all from me for today.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

Marleen DT

Hello everyone and thank you for popping by..

I have a card to show today that I have made for

Its not often I get the time to sit down and simply just play. I mean, making projects that dont follow a theme or a set of instructions or guidelines. So making my inspiration pieces for The Dragons Den, is always a pleasure.

I chose to make a male card. In my husbands family, several of the boys, plays the guitar, so it was with this in mind, that I made my card.

Ive used the image called "Guitar"
and papers from the "Sarah" collection.

Matting and layering.
Die cut stars.
Gems & greeting.
Image is printed on watercolour card and coloured with distress markers then coated with mice powder to give a gentle sheen.

And that is all for today.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

Hi there guys gals and fb pals

Wacky Jacqui here with my inspiration piece for Stamping Dragon Designs.  Hope you're all having loads of great weather and summer fun.  Don't you just love bright colours (especially purple) I know I do lol especially in the summertime.  I like to use lots of different colours together so this card is perfect for me.  And if you love cutting out then these flowers are awesome for you and the flower frame behind the bird is cut out too.

Inspiration by Gwyneth - August

Good Morning Everybody!
Hi everybody.  Thank you for popping over to have a look at the crafting inspiration that's on show on The Dragons Den blog.  Today I've gone for a card with a bit of paper piecing on it.

Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
  • "Uncle Perrys Gift" - found - Here - in the shop.
  • "Blue Harmony Papers" - found - Here - in the shop.
  • "Simply Lovable Collection CD Rom" - found - Here - in the shop.
Consumables:
3 x 300gsm, Super Smooth white cardstock; 8" square base card; ProMarkers - Prussian
FlexMarker - Blue Grey 3; Wink of Stella Brush Pens - Gold, Purple; Glue Gel; Topsy Turvy blue card; White Gel Pen
Equipment:
Scissors; Corner Punches

An angled view of the card showing the little dimension achieved on the card.

A closer look at the Paper Pieced digi stamp.

For this card I printed out some items from the CD-ROM to use as background elements, cutting a strip of one and putting it across the centre as a paper ribbon.  I went over the edges of this paper ribbon and the shaped panel with a ProMarker to make it stand out.  I also punshed two corner paper punches on the background and the blue Topsy Turvy mat to create interlocking corners.  I printed the dragons digi-stamp out three times, once onto plain cardstock, twice more onto paper already printed with two of the blue backgrounds from the blue harmony kit.  I think that these give a bit of a texture to the two dragons, especially Uncle Perry.  I cut out all of these, making the two blues paper piecing pieces for the two dragons.  I used the blue ProMarker to colour some parts of Uncle Perry and the Blue Grey FlexMarker to put in shading around the lines of both the dragons.  The Wink of Stella pens were used to colour in the parsel and the white gel pen to do Uncle Perry's eyes and teeth.  I shaped these and used glue gel to attached the pieces image to the card front.

And that is it from me for today.
Please keep coming back regularly to look at new posts as over the next few weeks you'll find various "Inspiration by ..." posts appear on this "Dragons Den" blog, as well as colouring tutorials and other posts by different Design Team members.  I'll be back with more posts over the coming months as well, so keep an eye out for those.
