December colour along - Colour combo's - Skintones

Hiya colour buddies,

Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Did Santa bring you any colouring goodies?

I have been asked many times what colour combinations I use for skin. which is not a easy answer to give as there are so many. So when I saw this months digi, Victorian Christmas Collection - Angel Stamp, I thought it was perfect to show a small collection of skintones that can be achieved.

As you can see, I have one left uncoloured and would love to know what your favourite combination is. Leave a comment below and I will choose one and show you the finished result in next months post.

Happy colouring

Have a very happy new year

And I will see you next year :)

Happy crafting

Jolly Ole St Nick

Hi everyone! It's me, Tonya and I'm here to share my last post with Dragons Lair Den. I am thankful for the time I have been on the design team and being able to share a little bit of my take on DLD printables.
I created this mini Santa journal from a file folder which I cutdown and the finished size is a 3 1/2"x5" and that measures from the "creases" or three folds in the file folder.

I inked the spine with a green ink, let dry and then measured and marked four small holes at 1" intervals down the spine. I used a very thick needle to punch each hole.

I printed off the sage green sheet from the Victorian Christmas Collection-Card Papers and cut two 3 1/2"x5" pieces to fit the front and the back of the journal. I used the Christmas Merriment embossing folder and embossed both pieces before adhering to the journal. Next I printed out the Vintage Santa Card Kit and cut one of the Santa's out, inked the edges and then used pop dots to raise the image. I finished off the front with baker's twine, button, sequins, dew drops, tulle and a metal star. I also applied Stickles to the Santa's beard and hair.

I cut twenty sheets of notebook paper to fit the inside of the journal. Once folded in half I sewed the pages and tied off on the outside of the spine. I added fiber and ribbon also to make it more festive.

From the same Victorian Christmas Collection-Card Papers I printed off a burgundy sheet and cut it down to make an inside pocket. I added from the Vintage Santa Card Kit a label and flower to finish it off.

There you have it a simple little journal that can be used to jot down notes, keep up with receipts or whatever else you can think of. :-) Please be sure to check out the Dragons Lair Den for these printables and more. If you have any questions please let me know.

Victorian Christmas Collection DT project/Mini book

I made a mini book yayy this is only my 2nd attempt at making a mini book and i'm beginning to get the hang of it at last lol.  The NEW Victorian Christmas Collection is absolutely stunning as you can see by the amount of sneak peeks I did I simply couldn't stop using it!  I got this little book at our local craft fair & I wish i'd bought more now, but I just wanted to give it a try!  I think it turned out really well and as my grandson is one this year i'm hoping for some awesome pics to put in it.  I've used papers, mats, toppers, embellishments all from the kit and just added ink, a Tonic die & some embellishments. Oh and my new fav thing is liquid pearls. I've always wanted to try them so I got 8 bottles at the fair to add to my stickles and detail sparkle!  I really hope you like it as much as me and i'd love you to let me know. Thanks for stopping by Jacqui over and out.

Inspiration by Gwyneth - December

Good Morning Everybody!

As it's now December, and most crafters will be well ahead with their Christmas crafting, I decided to try and inspire you with some pieces that don't require a huge amount of time to create, that can be individually personalised if you want, and to carry on the crafting after Christmas with a simple Thank You card/digi-card and scrapbook layout.

By keeping the same basic layout throughout I hope to show you that personalising doesn't have to be a difficult thing to do, and can be quick if you suddenly find that you've missed creating for a few people. Personalising can mean using different languages for different people if friends and family come from different parts of the world, or it can mean putting the name of who the creation is for on each card.

Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
    "Christmastide Collection - Page Kit".
(a similar idea for cards, digi-cards, layouts, etc., can be made using any of the DLD kits)
      Consumables:
250gsm Super Smooth white cardstock; Zig 2 Way glue pen; Glue Gel; Finger-lift Tape; White 6" square pre-scored base cards
      Equipment:
      Scissors

      Let's start with a quick card -

Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda = Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
The design has all been put together digitally in My Craft Studio from some elements from the kit.  This was then printed out at a little less than 6" square, trimmed and attached to the front of a 6" square white card from my crafting stash - Quick and easy.

      The card is completely flat.

With a little more time, and printing extra copies of some of the elements, a more elaborate card card can be made.
For this card I used a Zig 2 Way glue pen to put glue on the main greeting and on various places on the extra layers and then added green foiling before using glue gel to attach the extra pieces.

This card has some dimension, but I purposly kept the dimension low so that the card would go through the post on a standard letter stamp in the UK

And if time has really run out and you don't have time to post or hand deliver then you could just put a digital design together and E-mail it - putting on the recipient's name.

In fact, if you've got enough time you could change the name before printing out each and every card front to make personalised cards to put in with the gifts of every family member and close friend.
      .
And come Christmas I'm sure you'll be taking photos of the children opening their Christmas gifts - and they will need to thank everybody - so what better way than include photos of them wearing or playing with their gifts?  Digitally put together a design and again either E-mail it or print it out and make it into a real card.  Diolch is Welsh for Thank You - remember that using a kit such as this you can make your cards or other creations in any language you want - in fact you could use the same layout and not only personalise your Christmas cards with the recipient's name on front, but you could change the language if required as well.
      Diolch = Thank You

And into the New Year I'm sure you'll be looking over the photos you've taken and wondering what to do with them all - what about a bit of scrapbooking!  You can either digitally put together a page on your computer, or print out lots of elements and backgrounds from the kit and build a totally paper based scrapbook page, or go hybrid and do a bit of both.  You can even keep your scrapbooking on a similar layout theme to your other Christmas crafting.
      Nadolig 2000 = Christmas 2000
Of course, you could go a totally different route - but whatever you decide to do as Christmas crafting - have fun, and have a wonderful Christmas all of  you.
