Pick of the Week 5

Hi , it's Monday morning so that means it's time for another Pick of the Week from the Dragon's Den.

For my Pick of the Week I have used the image Nurse Penny , which can be found here at Stamping Dragon Designs .

I made a fairly simple background for the card as I wanted the image to stand out.  So I used a blue base card and then added some spotty paper to the lower half, Penny is coloured with Pro markers.
I then added a sentiment to the top of the card, and for a fun element I added a plaster at the bottom.

Well that's me for this weeks Pick of the Week, Gwyneth will be with you next week.

But in the meantime why not go and have a browse in the fantastic online shop Stamping Dragon Designs , or come on over and join our fun facebook group , Stamping Dragon Facebook Group , where we show inspiration, have fun challenges and a Question of the day , amongst other things, we'd love to see you .

Or if you would like to join in with a blog challenge, pop on over to the Stamping with the Dragon Blog , there is a fortnightly challenge.

Well happy crafting, and I will see you all soon,
Fran xxxx

"Pick of the Week"

Morning everyone..

A wee post from me today to share my "Pick of the Week".

My card for this week, Ive made with one of the recent additions to the store.
I just LOVE this sillohette stamp. Its one of those stamps where you can really have a good play with colouring.

On this card, Ive used chalks to colour. I dont normally use chalks very much, but they worked really well and gave my card that realistic look I was after.

This stamp is called
Moonlight Faires, and can be found in the STORE.

And that is it from me today. I hope you like what Ive made.

Guest Blogger - Marg Byatt

 Morning everyone..

Its time for this month Guest blogger. This month we are sharing a project made by our facebook group member Marg Byatt.
To see more of Marg's work, do pop over to her blog.

Marg had used the image called:
Tractor & Trailer - 3 stamp set.

And with that said, Ill hand you over to Marg..

Hi, My name is Marg and I have the pleasure of being the Guest Blogger today for Stamping Dragons.
I am a 52 year old disabled single parent to a 16 year old daughter, unable to work due to various, quite serious disabilities in my spine & various other ailments including a lesser known form of Muscular Dystrophy called Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome, which is an inherited progressive genetic disease but is not life threatening.
I therefore craft to keep my mind & hands creative.

I used to sell my craft at craft events but I have had to give up driving. Instead I now sell online alongside making for family, friends & of course DT projects. Crafting is my therapy, my life, and I craft as often as my health allows.
My creative streak has always been with me, (drawing, sewing, cross stitch) but only the last 5+ years have I been creating cards good enough to sell. I have got a lot more creative & better over the years...

Creating a papercraft project now, I'm very lucky that I can pick up a piece of scrap craft material & put a card together using that one piece, equally though, I can follow a sketch &/or theme to the letter or diversify when needed. Even though I have no particular style, I do not like to cover the card with all shabby chic style/loads of people/lace/flowers stash, I do tend to edge more the Clean & Simple type..
I do love stamping & colouring with alcoholic pens (promarkers/flexmarkers/graph it pens) and occasionally with watercolour pencils.

I mainly use a digi stamp but I do, sometimes, depending on the card I am going to make,
use a rubber stamp, both of which I have plenty to choose from.

The digi in the card I have made for you today is called Tractor & Trailer - 3 stamp pack
and is coloured in with a mixture of Promarkers, a couple of Graph It alcoholic ink pens & the fabulous Sakura Gelly Roll metallic pen to give the engine parts, wheel hubs etc a more realistic look. (I do prefer to be more realistic in my colouring).

The backing paper was just made from tearing handmade papers that I had in my stash. The letters that spell out "Have Fun" were cut with Memory Box dies. The card size is A5.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post & looking at my car.
If you have, please check out my own blog HERE...

And that is it from us for today.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

"Pick of the Week" - 3

Good Morning Everybody!
Gwyneth here with a new "Pick of the Week" to hopefully inspire you.

When Marleen contacted me a few weeks ago and invited me to join the small team of crafters who were going to post on a rotating basis to the new "Pick of the Week" feature on this blog I felt very honoured, although not totally sure about my suitability for the job.  But having been persuaded to join this little Design Team I've thrown myself in to creating an assortment of different cards to show you over the next few months made using various items from the Stamping Dragon Designs shop.  A lot are works in progress, but the first is ready to show you today.

My one resolution at the beginning of this year was to regularly make cards for men and children, rather than just spending weeks making only cards for women (and I think I've been reasonably successful at this) so I decided to kick off my contribution to this blog by making a rustic/male card.

Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
Giraffe Digital Stamp - found - Here - in the shop.
Consumables:
Kraft Card; 300gsm Super Smooth card stock; green glitter card; ProMarkers; Finger-lift Tape; Glue gel
Equipment:
Scoreboard; Joy Embossing Machine; Branch and assorted leaf dies

After printing the digi-stamp I coloured it in.  Rather than try to go for colouring a large background area smoothly I decided to go for a camouflaged look background.  I also did a separate panel of the camouflaged background for cutting out the leaves - because I wanted the colours to match and also wanted my leaves to look dappled rather than a flat colour.  I also did a panel of the same browns as used on the giraffe to be used for the branches.

I just tore around the digi to create my topper, and tore two mats of Kraft card and Glitter card to go behind it, and used an assortment of dies to cut out branches and leaves.  One sheet of Kraft Card was simply scored and folded in half to make the base card.

I stuck everything together with tape and glue - but I kept these to the centre of each piece so that the edges could just lift - it gives a bit of a dimensional look without making the card too deep to go into an ordinary envelope.

And that is it from me for today.
Marleen will be here next Monday with a project to share with you all, and Fran the Monday after that - I'll see you back here in three weeks time.

If you fancy trying out some of Stamping Dragon Designs, do pop to the Store to find all you need.
And why not join us in our Facebook group. We are a small fun group, with loads of exclusive challenges, inspiration and giveaways.

Till next time - Enjoy Your Crafting!

Pick of the Week - 2

Good morning everyone, I'm here with another " Pick of the Week" for you .

I was very chuffed to be asked by Marleen to help create inspiration for you all with the wonderful images from Stamping Dragon Designs , the images are all fab to work with, especially the " Dragon's ". So I'm hoping that I can do them justice.

Each week either Marleen , Gwyneth or myself will be posting  a " Pick of the Week " for you using designs from the Stamping Dragon Designs Shop , if you get the chance you should visit the online shop , but beware it's addictive , you won't want to stop looking !!!

For my first project I chose to use the image Cheese Please , the image is so cute , as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to make.

I used an 8x8 card base, covered it with some backing paper and then cut a "mouse hole " out from some black card , the mouse is coloured with ProMarkers. To give the mouse a bit of a 3D look , I used silicone glue to raise the image up.

I then finished the card off with a sentiment that I hung over the mouse hole and two stickers to look like pictures.

Well that is it for me for today , Gwyneth will be here next Monday with another Pick of the Week for you.

Remember to have a peek at the Shop , and have a browse around, there is a massive selection of images and paper packs to choose from.

And why not come and join our fab Facebook Group , we are a small fun group with lots of exciting things going on , including giveaways, inspiration and exclusive fun challenges, we'd love to see you.

 So see you soon ,

"Pick of the week"

Good morning everyone..

Here, on the Dragons Den, we have decided to have a set feature where we will show you a few samples, using the fantastic designs from
Stamping with the Dragon.

All images can be found in our STORE so you will always know where to go if you feel inspired to try out some of our designs..

For this feature, I have gotten 2 very talented crafters to join me.

Both very talented and with a love for our Dragons.
Do pop to see what else they get up too..

But to start of this new feature, I will take the rains and go first..

Lately I have been busy playing with the images and papers from the Halloween section, all from the store.

Here is a few of the cards I've made so far.

For this card, I've used a whole selection of Stamping Dragon Digi stamps..
All can be found in the Halloween section in the store.

I first covered my card blank with paper from the "Spook night paper pack"
I then used several images from the Halloween section, layering them all up after colouring. I used promarkers as well chalk.

This Bat here, is one of my favorite Halloween stamps from the store :-)
You can find him HERE...

For this card I again used papers from the "Spook night paper pack"
I then added the images from the "Cute Spook pack" to finish..

And that is it from me for today.
Fran will be here next Monday with a project to share with you all..

If you fancy trying out some of Stamping Dragon Designs, do pop to the STORE to find all you need.
And why not join us in our Facebook group. We are a small fun group, with loads of exclusive challenges, inspiration and giveaways.
