"Pick of the Week" - 18

Good Morning Everybody!
Gwyneth back with another "Pick of the Week".

I'm sure it won't surprise you to read that I've been playing with another digi-stamp from the Stamping Dragon Designs shop.

I said in my last "Pick of the Week" post that I was "hoping to produce a card for a child" this time.  What I've gone for is a "Get Well Soon" card for a child who's feeling poorly.

Stamping Dragon Designs Item:
"Hoppy Frog on Lily Pad" - found - Here - in the shop.
Consumables:
Super Smooth white cardstock; ProMarkers; Metalic Marker - Blue; Marble effect cardstock - two shades of blue; Adorable Scoreable cardstock - light blue; Satin Board; Glue Gel
Equipment:
Circle Scissors; Score Board; Scissors.

This card was created from a series of circles.  The base card is an circular easel card, and all the elements are circles.

Even the digi-stamp was cut out using the circle scissors before the top half was cut out close to the digi.  The wording here says "I heard that you lost your voice and now you're croaking like me".

The different circles were stuck on at slightly different heights to give the card front some dimension.

And that is it from me for today.
You should find Marleen here next Monday with the next "Pick of the Week" project, Fran the Monday after that, and Tania the Monday after that - I hope that you'll also visit here again in four weeks time when I should be back with a new "Pick of the Week" card to show you
- I'm going to get my thinking cap on to see what I can come up with.
In the meantime you'll find lots of other posts popping up on this blog practically daily, so please do come back to have a look soon.

If you fancy trying out some of Stamping Dragon Designs, please do visit the Store to find all sorts of digital goodies (you'll find great digi-stamps and lots more).
And why not join the "Stamping Dragon Designs" Facebook group. It's a small, fun, group where we have lots of different activities which include exclusive challenges, inspiration and giveaways - and there's a loyalty club for those who take part as well.

Till next time - Have Fun Crafting!

New Year Balloons

Hi Folks it's Tania here with my pick of the week.
Where do the weeks keep going
Christmas is just around the corner
2 days and counting
The image that I have used has come from the fabulous Stamping Dragon Designs Shop .

There are some wonderful images that you can purchase and once you buy one you will be hooked.

For my image today  I have chosen
Balloons
a fun image. The image could be used for a male or female card for any occasion.
The balloon image is a set of 4 but you could use as many as you needed to say anything.
I decided to go for the new year.
I coloured the balloons with Graph it pens, cut them out and 3d foamed them on to the black card then applied Pinflaire glaze when this dried it helped to give dimension to the balloons. I used glitter peel offs for the letters. I stuck on the star gem and added sakura pen to add tails. The whole topper was then added to a DL card.
I think it looks so effective.

Make sure you pop on over to the Shop and have a browse , there is a great selection of  Images available for you to choose from.

We also have a Stamping Dragon Facebook Group , where we have lots of fun , inspiration for you , mini challenges and lots , lots more, so why not come over and see us.

Well that's  it from me for today, have a wonderful festive break.
Gwyneth will be bringing you the next
Pick of the Week next Monday ,
See you soon
Hugs  T xx

Guest Bl;ogger - Vera Lynn

This months Member Blog showcase goes to Vera Lynn :D

My name is Vera, I have been crafting since around 1996
The first craft supply I ever bought was from the old "Ben Franklin store",
I wish we still had ours.
The first things I ever crafted were Christmas ornaments
back then with my husband,That same year made Christmas ornaments from Upcycled C7 bulbs I didn't do much crafting after that because, of work and our son came along in 1998.

I started up again around 1999 when I joined Stamping' Up!
It was such a waste of time because, soon after that pretty much the economy went to crap
None of my family, friends acquaintances could afford to buy anything, plus we just didn't have the space to make room for me to craft.
I stayed with it maybe two years but my second child arrived in 2001
and I said enough is enough... . 90% of the sales were to myself.

Once she started getting around good, I stopped crafting again and boxed it all up because,
she was getting into everything..
Finally when she hit 7 years old and both kids were less destructive and exploring less,
I pulled it out and started working in front of them,
she was so excited and it made my heart melt when she wanted to join in too.
She has been crafting with me since 2008.

I still have a whole heck of a lot to learn, when it comes to layouts, and coloring with alcohol markers.
Took me years before I could afford to buy my first complete set of alcohol markers
and another year before I bought the paper..
70-80% of my craft supplies are either from resale shops, yard-sales, free cycle yahoo groups and Cafe yahoo groups.
I am not ashamed that most of my stuff is used
My aunt is like your not supposed to tell people that you got that from a yard sale or used store.
To her I replied, "I am proud to be thrifty and that I save money whenever and wherever I can".
And it allows me to buy stuff I normally could not have bought..

Well, enough blabbing onto sharing my card.
I made this card using 2 cute digi stamps from Stamping Dragon Designs
Janette combined the couple and the scene for me because,
I needed them for a wedding card...  Romantic picnic

There were a lot of other things I wanted to add, but due to 3 people being sick on and off since the end of October in my family, I just don't have the time to make the card like my niece would have liked Never the less I love it

Meet the Dragons ........ Penny

After the wedding, penny still worked and visited her forest friends as usual, especially the Fairies who were always so playful and fun to be around

Once the first Baby came around though she had to give up her Job to stay home and be a full time Dragon Mummy, which she loved totally

She loves her cooking and is often found around the forest gathering supplies

It doesn't stop her joining in the fun and games around the forest though

Meet the Team - Sue

Hi I'm Sue and I'm married to my best friend, I have two children and two beautiful grandsons, oh and 'his lordship' who is Ollie our cocker spaniel.

I have basically retired from being a Civil Servant as I'm my husbands full-time carer and my crafting is my 'stress' relief. I began when I was little as most of us do, my grandma taught me how to bake and embroider, my mam taught me how to knit and crochet and I loved art at school and went on to do 'A' level Art.

When I was asked to be part of the Stamping Dragon design team I was over the moon, everyone made me feel really welcome and I love the digi stamps because I love to colour and there is so much to choose from.

We have great fun as a team and we all bring something individual to it. The card I have made has the lovely Rupert on he's such a cute dragon and I've used it as a 'New Home' card, why not pop into our store and have a look you won't be disappointed!

Anyway enough waffling from me, hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and an even better New Year.

Meet the Dragons ........ Penny

Penny had no idea she had an admirer until she started getting love notes through her door, which made her very curious as you can imagine :D

This went on for quite a while before she found out it was Rupert sending them, but it did not take long before they were head over heels in LOVE

and like every girls dream, it ended in a beautiful forest wedding

Stamping Dragon Design Inspiration

For this project I made another christmas card. And I had tons of fun.

For this card I used the Image called "Christmas Warmth Fireplace"
and the papers called "Christmas Morn"

Click on the name to be taken directly to the papers/image or click HERE to go to the STORE..

This card is made as a simple matting and layering. But I made a boarder for my image, as well as the sentiment, using my gildingflakes.
The image is coloured with promarkers and the little dots around the card, is made with Liquid pearl wand.

Anyway I hope you like what Ive made.
Thank you for stopping by & for any comments left behind.

"Pick of the Week" - 14

Good Morning Everybody!
Gwyneth back with another "Pick of the Week".

I've been having fun playing with another digi-stamp from the Stamping Dragon Designs shop.

I've got another Christmas card for you this time, but this one is a bit "pink" for a baby girl's 1st Christmas.

Stamping Dragon Designs Items:
"Hippo Christmas" - found - Here - in the shop.
Consumables:
Super Smooth cardstock; ProMarkers and FlexMarker; Satin Board: 3 x different shades of Pink, Red; 1mm deep, double sided, foam tape; Ultra tacky red backed tape; Lace; Die-cut Holly; Red glitter glue; Silver Peel-offs; White glitter flocking; Wet Glue; Finger-lift Tap; Glue Gel
Equipment:
Circle Scissors; Score Board; Scissors; Corner Rounder Punch

After printing out the image I coloured it in using my markers and then put some wet glue on the white hat edge and pompom.  I then put white glitter flocking on this.  I used a circle scissors to cut out the digi and a mat to put behind it.

I also used my circle scissors to cut a series of pink and red circles from some satin board, folded them in half and stuck them together using quick grab wet glue.  I then went over the join laying down a band of red glitter glue.
The base card was made by scoring two sheets of satin board at the half way point.  One was cut along the score line and the other was scored again from front corner to corner.  I used finger-lift tape to attach the half sheet inside the other card, and the one scored diagonally was cut in half along the score line to give a half front card, to which lace was attached along the cut line using ultra tacky tape and the digi-stamp on its circular mat.

The card was further decorated with die cut holly leaves and silver peel-offs from my crafting stash.
So there you have it - one "1st Christmas" card - I hope you like it.

If you've left it a bit late and still need to finish your Christmas cards, but don't have time to go colouring in this little digi-stamp for yourself, then one version of "Hippo Christmas Coloured" is available in the shop - here.

Not long till Christmas everybody.  I hope that you've managed to get a lot of the little jobs you wanted to do ahead of time all done, and that the cards you are going to post are ready.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

And that is it from me for today.
Marleen will be here next Monday with a "Pick of the Week" project to share with you all, Fran the Monday after that, and Tania will be sharing with you in three weeks time - I hope that you'll visit here again in four weeks time when I should be back with a new "Pick of the Week" card to show you - I'm hoping to produce a card for a child.
In the meantime you'll find lots of other posts popping up on this blog in between, so please do come back to have a look soon.

If you fancy trying out some of Stamping Dragon Designs, please do visit the Store to find all sorts of digital goodies (you'll find great digi-stamps and lots more).

Crafting on a budget - flowers from around the home

Hi everyone I hope that you are all well and happy. Its time for this fortnights Crafting on a budget feature and as the title suggests I have created a flower using things that can be found around the home and I hope that you like it.
Pic 1
Shows a selection of things I used to create the flower. (also used some newspaper. not pictured )

 Pic 2
I have cut out some petal shapes from the plastic cream tub and some newspaper . I also cut out a circle shape from the cream tub and attached the petal shapes to it using double sided red sticky tape to form the flower and added a button to the centre.
Pic 3
Shows the flower completed. I have used a piece of twine for the stem and cut out of newspaper two leaf shapes.
Pic 4
Shows a card I created using the flower I made, paper, card and embellishments from my stash.
The paper under the gingham is from the aged journal - Angels collection available in the store.
Of course there are many materials around the home that can be used to make the flower so why not have a look around and see what you can come up with!
Thank you for stopping by and don't forget we still have a challenge running over on the challenge blog and lots of fun stuff going on on a daily basis over in the Facebook group so come along and join in the fun.

A card with a Difference

Hi everyone, I thought I would show you how to make a slightly different card this week .

Here is the finished card.

So to make this card with a difference I took 2 8x8 cards , papers printed from the Stamping Dragon Designs Store , I used Primary Colours  (red) and Coffee Cream Card Papers (green), some mirri card, card flowers and the image is Lucy Lion .

First I took the 2 8x8 cards and cut the front of them to create the pocket shape opening.

Then I stuck the 2 cards together.

Next I cut the mirri card to fit the flaps on the front of the card.

I then stuck them to the front of the card, and then I stuck the flaps down at the bottom to creat a pocket.

On the red piece of card I printed a sentiment , and then cut some of the green paper to fit.

This then is trimmed to fit inside the pocket , and then I decorated the front with the flowers and the image.

Hope this gives you some inspiration.

If you like the image and papers, why not pop over to the Stamping Dragon Designs  store and have a browse.
Or come over and join our fun friendly Stamping Dragon Facebook Group .

Hope to see you soon

Fran xx
