I started actually making cards in early 2010 and i remember saying at the time, i will not go over board i am only going to give it a go, after all i make the stamps i ought to understand it all, but that does not mean i will become addicted ..

Like RIGHT !!!!!!!!!!

This is what i started with back then, a small case of a few essentials

Today i found the photo above and thought wow what was i saying just look at my work area now, i take up one whole side of the kitchen workspace and have drawers and srawers full of stash, what can i say other than If like me you just want to have a go but will not be buying all those papers and getting carrioed away ....

I had my first order of 2012 from a friend who's daughter was 15, "She loves purple and Animals was the spec" I think i covered it here, I used Sally in Frame and a blank Birthday Ticket from Stamping Dragon Designs, and some DP i had in my stash, her mum loved it so hopefully the daughter will too :)

Quickie Before Work

Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals So, since my Birthday is just around the corner the team thought it would be a great way to honor my Birthday by asking all of you to donate to this Special group and in return we will be offering 2 prizes.

But, before I announce what the prizes will be I ask that you please read the guidelines (on the challenge blog HERE)carefully for Send A Smile only because these cards will be going to kids and their safety is a must.

Birthday Box

I needed a box for my daughters birthday gift, so i thought i would have a go at making one, i bought a pack of three nesting boxes and set off on the biggest one.

I have to say i really enjoyed making this and i think it turned it pretty cool too, i covered the box inside and out with DP and used a cute bird from Doodle Pantry for the top, added a make a wish sentiment and some flowers and here we have it, the only thing i think i would change is fixing the panels to the top with tape so they lay flat rather than sticky pads.

Aspire To Thrive Children's Charities (was Incy Wincy Children's Charities - hence the challenge blog name) was started by a group of dart friends here in Elizabeth and Salisbury ,South Australia - who wanted to give something back to the community. A group of us have continued to do through out the last 2 years and we have been shown the amount of difficulty our society has towards children with special needs. There are a lot of charities out there who help children with terminal illnesses so we thought we could aim more towards learning and behavioural difficulties.

We are in talks now with a local kindergarten to see what we can do to help them. This would be a wonderful project and I hope with all my heart this goes ahead.

We have found an official home base now and are going from strength to strength.

ALL our work is voluntary and we get no ongoing assistance from anyone. We have gotten a few tiny grants to help with uniforms and equipment, for which we are grateful.

Our shop at www.aspiretothrive.com.au are donated drawings and ALL money (minus paypal costs) go directly into the charity.

We are grateful for any sales, help or donations (cards etc for our stalls)

Heres my card using one of the stamps from the store, my non card items used are a Paper Bun case that i both inked and glittered i also used old eyeshadow on the Piano and the edges of the die cut.

As i said before i am all over the place at the min with my mum in hospital, and i have to admit i am very touchy about my craft space, it has to be tidy i cant cope with messy just me i know it doesnt help that i am working in my kitchen and i have to keep it that way for cooking etc ....

Anyway last night my daughter must have decided to be creative while i was gathering stuff for the hospital and getting things sorted, anyway off we went visiting came back and they went off to stay with dad for the weekend, i walk in the kitchen and ARGHHHHHHH ...

I know i know chill i hear you say, but i nearlly dropped on the spot embelishments strewn everywhere, my beloved pens too ... Oooo what can you say

Anyway here it is now back to its normal crafty tidyness

Anyway I have eventually finished my card, it was supost to be ready for opening day but with all the running around i didnt get chance, I used Jiggys Teddy coloured with my Letraset promarkers, and stickles for his wings.

inside i covered the card with plain digital paper from the store and added some DP for the pocket and the strip, then made a small card to slip in the pocket, the verse says Everything I share in life except of course my teddy.

Can you Belive it .............

Can you belive that i only started card making as a hobby in March 2010 with my little stash of goodies all thanks to Sam MAy nattering at me to give it a go lol as you can see i had a small case of basics that i played with, and i swore it would stay that way i wasnt going to get hooked not me !!!!!

and now look its January 2011 and the small stash that was staying that way has now grown to half the kitchen worktop, complete with drawers and a cutting machine lol

and a set of drawers underneath with a box for the papers i was never going to buy :P i was only using digital me was never buying the real thing !!!!!

Challenge # 17 Favorite WInter Colour

Well here we are Christmas Eve and i am sure everybody is running about doing all those last minute things, getting ready for the big fat man in the red suit coming tonight :) but i am sure once he has been and you have all got your new goodies to play with you will want a challenge to play along with and we have just that so when you get time please come and join us with our super Christmas Challenge sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads.

Ok before i tell you all about the challenge, it is with sadness i have to announce three of our design team are leaving us, this is there last challenge, so i would like to say a HUGE thankyou to Jenny, Sammi and Claire for all they have done to help both Stamping Dragon Designs and the challenge blog in there time with us, we all wish you all the best in everything you do in the new year but i am sure we will still be seeing them around blogland :)

Here is my card i coloured him with my pro markers and added some glamourdust (love that stuff) mpunted him on some silver corrogated card, the DP's are from my stash as are the ribbons then i added some poinsettia's and wallah I like the finished card i hope you do too :)

Monochromatic Creations Challenge - Blues

This is for a challenge over at Stamping Vacation the theme is Monochromatic Creations Challenge - Blues i have to say Blue is my favorite ever colour and i just knew which stamp i was going to use as soon as i saw it so here we are the Stamp is mine and is called Dodge Tourer I couloured it with promarkers and used dome DP's i had then added a ribbon from my stash :)

I have not been able to get here since i started working on a tuesday and wednesday so when i saw linky was still open today i just had to come and join in :), Taking these pics made me think back to when i started earlier this year i was adamant it would not take over and would stay a small collection .. I mean come on who am i kidding addictive is so not in it lol since then i have purchased a chest of drawers to store things in and after swearing i would only use digi papers ( hmphhhh) i now have a growing collection of papers lol sooo ladies this is in less that 12 months and yes i can hear you all saying haha knew she wouldnt keep it small lol, pop over to the Stamping Ground to have a peek at everybody elses stash :)
